It’s all go at RTC at the moment! The first drafts of season three of the radio series have just been submitted, we’ve amassed our target number of reminiscence recordings, and we’ve selected a designer for the education pack. I see a great deal of editing, across various media, in our future.
Several new writers have had their first taste of script-writing for the third series of Atching Tan. All of them have enjoyed the experience immensely; we’re hoping that you will enjoy the third series just as much. Recording is due to take place over the summer and it is planned for broadcast in the autumn, much the same as the two previous series. I can’t give away anything, but I know that it is going to be just as exciting as what you’ve heard already! If you want to listen to series one and two again, you can do so from the radio show pages on the Atching Tan website.
Thanks to the hard work of the RTC staff and many of our volunteers, we’ve now hit our target number of reminiscence recordings. However, just because we’ve reached our target, it doesn’t mean that we are going to stop. Everyone has a story to tell and allowing people a platform to do so, and for it to be recorded for the ages, is very important. Of course, I’m really looking forward to listening to the latest batch of recordings and seeing what can be fed into the education pack.
The first draft of the education pack is mostly complete, which is a massive relief for me. The process is now focused on editing, selecting relevant snippets from the reminiscence recordings, ensuring that we have sought the relevant permissions to include any copyrighted work, for example poems, and getting on with the design process. Selecting a designer wasn’t easy — I sifted through hundreds of portfolios and quite a few quotes — but I’m really pleased with the choice that we have made, and I look forward to collaborating with him to make something that looks stylish and attractive as is simultaneously easy to use.
Anyway, that’s probably enough from me. I need to go look for photographs of vardos. Take care and have fun!
